Project Statement

Fragments of Freedom is a collage that shows the struggles of Iranian women under strict limits on their freedom and identity. Made from brochures and images collected at the Bologna Art Fair, this artwork criticizes Iran’s social and political situation, with the hijab symbolizing control over women. Classical sculptures alongside modern images highlight the clash between Iran’s history and today’s restrictions. The fragmented style reflects the broken reality of life under oppression, linking the fight for women’s rights in Iran to global human rights issues. This piece calls for support of their resilience and the universal need for freedom and dignity.
